“OCCUPY” GIVEAWAY HUGE,
MARKETING DIRECTOR SAYS
Immediate Release Contact: Gerald Jones [email protected]
LOS ANGELES –The recent limited time giveaway of the e-book version of David
Drum’s hilarious comic novel Introducing the Richest Family in America was "HUGE" and “fantastically successful,” according to Gerald Jones, marketing director for Burning Books Press.
Jones said that nearly 14,000 e-books with a retail value approaching
$140,000 had been given away during the limited time promotional event, which
was the first of its type for Burning Books Press. During the promotion in November and December, the company set up a website with links to vendors offering free downloads of Introducing the Richest Family in America and posted announcements on interested websites and blogs.
Participants in the "Occupy the Richest Family" promotion included major e-book vendors such as Kindle, Nook,Smashwords, Apple iTunes, and Kobobooks who offered complimentary downloads of the e-book for a limited time.
“With the Occupy Wall Street movement in full swing, we couldn’t resist the chance to throw a little e-fuel on the e-fire by giving away copies of our zany portrait of the most ridiculous segment of the upper 1%,” said Jones. “In these hard times, our thinking here was that we 99%ers deserved a few laughs for free -- especially if the laughs come at the expense of some very pampered inhabitants of America's flaky upper crust! In terms of sheer numbers, our promotion was fantastically successful. We also hope this added a little something to the happiness quotient of the world.”
After the promotion, in a tip of the hat to the Occupy Movement, the retail price of the e-book was significantly dropped. Burning Books Press intends to keep the e-book’s retail price low until the economy improves, according to Jones.
Founded in 1984, Burning Books Press is located in Los Angeles, California.

PRO GOLFER COMES TO AMERICA
WITH SEDUCTION ON HER MIND
IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Gerald Everett Jones - [email protected]
LOS ANGELES -- A beautiful Chinese professional golfer is at the center of a plot to move factories to China in a hilarious new novel by David Drum entitled Introducing the Richest Family in America (Burning Books Press, 345 pp., $14.95, ISBN 978-0-9845646-0-6).
A beautiful and seductive Chinese professional golfer teams up with a crooked lawyer inside America’s wealthiest family in a plot to move manufacturing plants to China in Drum’s outrageous new novel.
The unusual combination of a strikingly beautiful if somewhat morally flawed professional athlete and a labor-management uprising are part of what makes Introducing the Richest Family in america relevant in these internationally uncertain times, according to Burning Books Press Marketing Director Gerald E. Jones.
Jones downplays the Introducing the Richest Family in America’s obvious focus on wealth and sex, noting the book’s release on Sept. 6, which is Labor Day in the U.S.
“When a beautiful Chinese woman comes to America with the idea of luring major manufacturing plants to China, it’s Look Out, America!” Jones states. “Introducing is a comic novel, but the plain truth is -- all kidding aside, we need to get every person in America back to work again!”
“If I can speak Hollywood talk for just a moment, David Drum’s novel is Perez Hilton meets Frank Capra,” says Jones.“David Drum is a former sports writer who is not only an outstanding artist with a feel for the foibles of the ultra rich. Drum understands the complicated politics of seduction of a esteemed patriarch in an extremely wealthy family. His book may be one of this year’s best comic novels, but it won‘t be the last novel from Burning books Press!” Jones vows.
Backstabbing international corporate intrigue and intense family rivalry are only part of what make the “Introducing the Richest Family in America” remarkable, according to Jones.
Burning Books Press, established in 1984, is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.
INTERIOR DECORATOR SAVES THE DAY
IN “INTRODUCING THE RICHEST FAMILY…”

LOS ANGELES -- An incredibly witty gay man and recovering alcoholic who is the black sheep son of America’s wealthiest family helps save the day in a hilarious new novel by David Drum entitled Introducing the Richest Family in America (Burning Books Press, 345 pp., $14.95 USD, ISBN 978-0-9845646-0-6).
The unusual combination of a strikingly handsome if somewhat morally flawed hero and a labor-management uprising are part of what makes Introducing the Richest Family in america extraordinarily pertinent in these uncertain times, according to Burning Books Press Marketing Director Gerald E. Jones.
Jones downplays the Introducing the Richest Family in America’s obvious focus on wealth and sex, noting that the book will be formally released Sept. 6, which is Labor Day in the U.S.
“When a trust fund baby who was once the family disgrace finds a way to dramatically stop the offshoring of major manufacturing plants to China, it’s hats off, America!” Jones states. “Introducing is a comic novel, and its hero is environmentally-conscious and fashionable in every sense of the word. But the plain truth is -- this is the kind of action we need to pick our country up by its bootstraps and get every person in America back to work again!”Jones says many American manufacturers have already relocated to other countries such as China, ousting American workers from their jobs and forcing a massive dislocation in American society.
“If I can speak Hollywood talk for just a moment, David Drum’s novel is Perez Hilton meets Frank Capra,” says Jones. “David Drum is not only an outstanding artist with a feel for the foibles of the ultra rich, he understands the complicated politics in an extremely wealthy family. His book may be one of this year’s best comic novels, but it won‘t be the last novel from Burning books Press!” Jones vows.
A plot to seduce the world’s richest man and backstabbing international corporate intrigue are only part of what make the “Introducing the Richest Family in America” remarkable, according to Jones.

MINIATURE POT-BELLIED PIGS STAMPEDE
ALL OVER RICHEST FAMILY SAGA
Contact Gerald Everett Jones - [email protected]
LOS ANGELES -- A miniature pig stampede caps off a chain of unsettling events in a hilarious new novel by David Drum released this Fall entitled “Introducing the Richest Family in America” (Burning Books Press, 345 pp., $14.95, ISBN 978-0-9845646-0-6).
In this hilarious new novel about California’s ultra-rich, the oldest daughter of an aging billionaire has become obsessed with her collection of miniature pot-bellied pigs. Meanwhile her husband, an unscrupulous lawyer, has become obsessed with moving the family’s factories to China.
As the plot thickens, the unscrupulous son-in-law enlists the help of a beautiful Chinese pro golfer and a ditzy plastic surgeon to convince the family patriarch to move his family’s factories to China. As a frenzied intercontinental romance begins, the black sheep of the family, an interior decorator, steps into the fray and trouble erupts in the richest family in America.
After the pigs stampede, the disgraced corporate lawyer sets out on a fool’s mission to find his estranged wife’s lost pigs which have scattered all over the rugged mountains of Coastal California.
Formally released this Labor Day, Introducing the Richest Family in America involves a labor-management showdown as well as dollops of wealth and sex, according to Burning Books Press Marketing Director Gerald E. Jones.
“When an interior decorator joins forces with American union workers to try to stop the offshoring of manufacturing plants to China, it’s wake up time in America,” Jones states. “Despite some hilarious plot turns, Introducing the Richest Family in America ends well. If I can speak Hollywood talk for just a moment, David Drum’s novel is Perez Hilton meets Frank Capra,” says Jones.
“David Drum is not only an artist with a tremendous feel for the foibles of the ultra rich. he’s a writer who knows his pigs!” Jones says. “Our book has more laughs than a barrel of monkeys - we’ve got a laughable stampede of miniature pot-bellied pigs!”
The author of seven nonfiction books, David Drum was also one of the first journalists in the United States to author articles in the popular press on miniature pot-bellied pigs, Jones says. Drum’s articles on miniature pigs appeared in People magazine, USA Today and other popular outlets, helping generate a stampede of interest in keeping miniature pigs as pets.

LABOR DAY RELEASE ANNOUNCED FOR
INTRODUCING THE RICHEST FAMILY IN AMERICA
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Gerald Everett Jones - [email protected].
LOS ANGELES -- A Labor Day release is planned for a hilarious new novel by David Drum entitled “Introducing the Richest Family in America” (Burning Books Press, 248 pp., $14.95, # ISBN 978-0-9845646-0-6).
The Labor Day release is appropriate because the novel deals with a foiled plan to move manufacturing plants to China, according to Burning Books Press Marketing Director Gerald E. Jones.
“When American union workers get together with a trust fund baby to stop the offshoring of a major manufacturing plant to China, it’s labor-Day friendly news,” Jones states. “Introducing is a comic novel and given the state of the nation, we’ll need a lot more of this kind of news on Labor Day!”
Jones notes that many American manufacturers have relocated to other countries, costing American workers their jobs and forcing a massive dislocation in American society. And labor itself is beginning to mobilize against the job drain, as union members certainly do in “Introducing the Richest Family in America.”
“If I can speak Hollywood talk for just a moment, David Drum’s novel is Michael Moore meets Frank Capra,” says Jones. “David Drum is not only an artist with a tremendous feel for the ultra rich. He also has an understanding of working men and women. We’re proud of this book. It’s our first novel from Burning books Press but it won‘t be our last!” Jones vowed.
In the past, Burning Books Press produced a distinctive line of artist’s books, some of which are included in collections such as the Museum of Modern Art Library in New York, But Burning books Press has expanded in recent times to encompass more commercial works, according to Jones.
“This first novel by David Drum will be followed by at least three books next year. At this time and we anticipate looking at both fiction and nonfiction works,” says Jones. “Speaking for Burning Books Press, we look forward to generating some substantial interest in this first book among readers in organized labor and anywhere people enjoy a good read.”
